CEO Kim Hanke Joins Industry Leaders at “The Future of the Healthcare Workforce Training” Panel

February 2024 – Elm Park Labs Founder and President Kim Hanke joined a panel hosted by the Detroit Regional Chamber. The panel brought together regional healthcare and technology leaders to discuss how innovation is reshaping workforce training and clinical education.

Drawing on decades of experience in immersive learning and simulation, Hanke shared how virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) are reshaping the way healthcare professionals develop and retain critical skills. She explained that VR simulations offer an engaging, standardized training experience that allows clinicians to safely practice high-risk procedures, improving confidence and readiness.

Hanke also addressed the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in healthcare education. When used responsibly and effectively, AI can reduce administrative burden with documentation support and data analysis, giving caregivers more time to focus on patients.

Throughout the discussion, the panelists underscored the human side of innovation, emphasizing emerging technologies as powerful tools to not only improve technical proficiency, but to promote empathy, cultural awareness, and well-being.
